Dress Code

We can’t wait to see everyone dressed up and ready to celebrate our big day! Here’s a bit more information to help guide you in choosing the perfect outfit for the occasion.

Formal or Semi-Formal Attire

For the wedding ceremony and evening reception, we suggest formal or semi-formal attire. Think elegant and classy—dresses, suits, or something stylish that makes you feel fabulous. Since we’re celebrating at Achnagairn Castle, a stunning venue steeped in history, we want everyone to feel their best while also embracing the beauty of the surroundings.

British Women & Hats

While it’s definitely not required, we wanted to mention that many of the British women attending (of all ages) will likely be wearing hats or fascinators as part of their attire. It’s a traditional and stylish touch for weddings in the UK, and if you'd like to join in on this fun custom, we’d love to see it! But please know, there’s absolutely no pressure—wear what makes you feel most comfortable and fabulous for the occasion.

Kilts

We absolutely love the idea of a traditional Scottish kilt for our wedding day, and while they are completely optional, we’d be thrilled if you’d consider wearing one! The groom will be wearing a kilt, along with many of the men on the bride's side of the family. Kilts are available for rental throughout Scotland, so whether you're traveling to Inverness or anywhere else, it's easy to rent one for the occasion.

Weather

The weather in the Scottish Highlands in early July can be unpredictable, with temperatures typically ranging from 12°C to 18°C (54°F to 64°F). While we’re hoping for sunny days, be prepared for a mix of conditions!

  • Daytime: Mild temperatures, but it can feel cooler, especially in the evenings.

  • Rain: There’s always a chance of rain, so we recommend bringing an umbrella or waterproof jacket.

Dress in layers to stay comfortable. A stylish jacket or light cardigan will help if the evening turns chilly.

Whatever the weather, the Scottish Highlands will provide the perfect backdrop for our celebration!
