Getting to the Venue
Achnagairn Castle is located just outside the city of Inverness. We recommend traveling by train for a relaxed and scenic journey, but we've outlined all the best options for getting to the venue below:
By Train
Taking the train to Inverness is one of the most convenient and enjoyable ways to travel from other cities. Once you arrive in Inverness, you can take a taxi or Uber to the venue, which is about a 20-minute drive from the Inverness city center.

-
From Edinburgh: Trains to Inverness depart regularly from Edinburgh Waverley Station and Edinburgh Haymarket Station. Both stations are well-connected by public transport and within easy reach of most accommodation options in the city. From Edinburgh, the journey takes about 3.5 hours.

-
From Glasgow: The train from Glasgow Queen Street Station to Inverness takes about 3.5 hours as well. Enjoy scenic views as you make your way north.

-
From Aberdeen: The train from Aberdeen Station to Inverness takes around 2.5 hours. This route takes you through the countryside.

Once in Inverness, a taxi or Uber ride will take you directly to Achnagairn Castle.

By Car
If you prefer to drive, the address for Achnagairn Castle is: Achnagairn Castle, Kirkhill, IV5 7PD, Scotland, UK. There is plenty of parking available at the venue. If you're flying into Scotland or arriving by train, you can easily rent a car in the city you arrive in (Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness, or Aberdeen). However, please keep in mind:

-
Driving on the left side of the road: Scotland (and the UK generally) drives on the left side of the road, which can be a bit of a change if you're used to driving on the right! Make sure to stay alert and perhaps practice using roundabouts.

-
Car Rentals: While automatic cars are available for rent, they may not be as common or easy to find as in places like the USA. If you're comfortable driving a manual (stick shift), this might be the more readily available option. So, if you're not used to driving a stick, we recommend brushing up on your skills before you go, or consider booking an automatic well in advance to avoid any last-minute surprises.
Taxi or Uber
If you're not planning on driving yourself or taking the train, taxis and Ubers are available in every city. If you are traveling multiple hours in one direction we recommend booking a taxi well in advance to ensure availability.

-
From Aberdeen: The journey from Aberdeen to Achnagairn Castle is about 2 hours by car. You can easily find taxis at Aberdeen's train station. We recommend booking in advance, especially during busy times, as the distance to the venue is a little farther.

-
From Inverness: If you're already in Inverness, taking a taxi or Uber to the venue is quick and easy and will only take about 20 minutes. Taxis are readily available at Inverness train station, or you can use Uber to book directly from the city center. The cost is typically £20-£30.

-
From Glasgow: The journey from Glasgow to the venue is about 3.5 hours by car. While a long trip, taxis will take you this distance (however Ubers may not). It may be more cost-effective and comfortable to rent a car if you're planning on doing this drive.

-
From Edinburgh: The trip from Edinburgh to the venue is about 3.5 hours by car. While a long trip, taxis will take you this distance (however Ubers may not). It may be more cost-effective and comfortable to rent a car if you're planning on doing this drive.

Travel Responsibility
Please note that each guest is responsible for arranging their own travel to the venue. Whether you're traveling by train, car, or taxi, we recommend planning your journey in advance to ensure a smooth and timely arrival.
